Pari Mirza Shines in film ‘Bombay’: The trailer of Sanjay Niranjan’s new film Bombay may remind you of the 1993 Mumbai riots, but amidst its intense visuals, there is a calming, glamorous presence that draws your attention — none other than well-known fashion model and Miss India finalist Pari Mirza! Pari is making her Hindi film debut with Bombay.

"‘Bombay’ is a different kind of film. I play the love interest of an underworld don," says Pari Mirza.
"Producer Firdous Shaikh ji selected me for this role after auditioning several girls."
Although this is her official debut, Pari previously made a cameo appearance as Akshay Kumar’s sister in the film Holiday.

Coming from Bhutan to Kolkata and eventually to the city of films — Mumbai — Pari’s journey seems like a fairytale.

"While studying in college, I started participating in beauty pageants and fashion shows in Kolkata," she recalls.
"After winning Miss Kolkata, I was a Miss India finalist. My desire to appear on screen grew stronger. If you want to rise in acting, modeling, and shows, you must come to Mumbai. Throughout this journey, my mother, who is a single parent, has stood by me like a rock."

Pari has also featured in several popular Punjabi music videos, including Gagan Chahal’s Haaye Ni and Satinder Sartaj’s Inayat.

"In the meantime, I also did a cameo as Akshay Kumar’s sister in the film Holiday," she shares again.

In the world of fashion shows, Pari Mirza has carved out her own identity. She has been the face of shows by renowned fashion designers like Manish Malhotra, Vikram Phadnis, Tarun Tahiliani, and many weekly fashion events. Pari now wants to start her own fashion trend — a space where everything related to beauty and fashion is available under one roof.

How do you see your acting career?

Everyone wants to do a lot, but it depends on the kind of roles the films offer. Whatever I do, I want to make it memorable. That’s all I can say. This is just the beginning for me.

How was your experience working on Bombay, which has now been released in cinemas?

Fantastic. The film’s director Sanjay Niranjan is a brilliant technician. He knows how to get the best out of his actors.
